Global Warming has been one of the major issues which the world has faced since the pre-industrial period (between 1850-1900). Since the pre-industrial period, human activities are considered to be the main reason behind the increment of the Earth’s global average temperature by 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) and the number has been constantly increasing by 0.2 degree Celsius (0.36 degrees Fahrenheit) per decade. The emissions which are responsible for global warming are mostly emerged from the burning of fossil fuels at a high rate and generated mostly from the electric power sectors. We all are aware of the fact that the burning of fossil fuels leads to the emission of poisonous gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and other greenhouse gases which not only contaminate the air to a great extent but also are the main reason behind the increment of the global temperature. The harmful pollutants emitted from igniting the fossil fuels may lead to many cardiac and respiratory issues. Renewable energy, on the other hand, in the form of energy that emits less or no greenhouse gases and causes no deadliest diseases once consumed. Thereby it will gradually help in curbing the rate at which global warming is increasing.
Renewable sources of energy generate their power from natural sources like the sun, wind, water, etc. Renewable sources of energy can be replenished once needed but non-renewable energy sources like fuel, once exhausted, can never be replenished. Probably after some time, a crisis will arise regarding the availability of fossil fuels and thereby will disturb both the economic and environmental cycle. Renewable technologies like solar panels or windmills either have few or no stirring parts and also, they are not dependent on any ignitable fuel source to set up. Probably we can say that the Renewable sources of energy not only require low maintenance in comparison to the non-renewable sources of energy but also are highly economical. They help in reducing both the maintenance and the operating costs to a great extent, though the amount of money saved depends on various factors as well as technology. Sometimes it may lead to savings of hundreds and thousands of rupees. Renewable technologies require no refueling as they generate power through the natural sources of energy which are abundantly available. Thereby we can conclude that renewable energy is one of the most cost-effective forms of energy which will remain beneficial for consumption for many years to come.
According to some researches, the global renewable market is expected to reach its height in the years 2018-2025, due to the limited use of fossil fuels in the power sectors. The advancement of new technologies and the increased interest of the government to support renewable energy sources have proved to be highly beneficial for the growth of the market size yet more in the next few years to come.
